Stratus Environmental, Inc. (Stratus)'has'prepared this letter, on behalf of USA Gasoline
Corporation (USA), to present the results of the source test conducted during the start-up
of a Solleco 100 cubic feet per minute (cfin) soil vapor extraction (SVE) system at USA
Station No. 65, located at 2500 West Lodi Avenue, Lodi, California (Figure 1). The
model and serial numbers for the Solleco 100 cfin SVE system are ECAT100 and
M1266, respectively.
The system start-up was conducted on October 20, 2004, in accordance with the San
Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) Authority to Construct (ATC,
Permit No. N-4887-2-0, dated October 6, 2004) and in the presence of SJVAPCD
personnel. The Solleco 100 cfrn SVE system consists of a 5-horsepower (hp) Roots
positive displacement blower to extract soil vapors from the subsurface and an electric
catalytic oxidizer rated at 100 cfin.
The Solleco 100 cfn model ECAT100 SVE system was started on October 14, 2004, for
approximately one hour. On October 20, 2004, the system was started for source testing
in the presence of SJVAPCD personnel. Soil vapors were extracted from wells S-1, S-2,
and MW-8, using a 5 hp blower,'-rated at 100 cfm at 14 inches Hg. The extracted
petroleum hydrocarbon laden vapors were abated in-the electric catalytic oxidizer, rated -
- at 100 e n, prior to discharge to the atmosphere. Figure 2 presents the locations of the
extraction wells, remediation system, and other pertinent site features. A process flow
diagram for the SVE system is illustrated in Figure 3.
KAUSA Gaso1in600651Reports\USA 65—Source Test Rept_Nov 04.doe
