4 <br /> S <br /> ST��TUS <br /> c(opy <br /> ENviaoNnnErvraL INC 3330 Cameron Park Drive Ste 550 <br /> j Cameron Park California 95682 <br /> (530)676-6004-Fax (530)676-6005 <br /> ��1V1R��M SERA C�5 H <br /> p�R�]Il�f November 25, 2003 <br /> Proj ect No 2007-0065-01 <br /> Ms Jan Sudomier <br /> San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District <br /> 4230 Kiernan Avenue, Suite 130 <br /> Modesto, California 95356-9322 <br /> Re System Start-up Report(Permit No N-4887-1-0) <br /> USA Gasoline Service Station No 65 <br /> 2500 West Lodi Avenue <br /> Lodi, California <br /> Dear Ms Sudomier <br /> Stratus Environmental, Inc (Stratus) has prepared this letter, on behalf of USA Gasoline <br /> Corporation (USA), to present the results of the second source tests conducted during the <br /> start-up of a 150 cubic feet per minute (cfm) soil vapor extraction (SVE) system at USA <br /> Station No 65, located at 2500 West Lodi Avenue, Lodi, California (Figure 1) <br /> The system start-up was conducted on October 22, 2003 in accordance with the San <br /> Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) Authority to Construct (ATC, <br /> Permit No N-4887-1-0, dated April 22, 2003) and in the presence of SJVAPCD <br /> personnel The SVE system, consisting of two 1000-pound carbon units in series and a <br /> Fuji 2 3 horsepower (hp) blower, was initially started on August 1, 2003, and was <br /> shutdown on August 18, 2003, due to low destruction efficiencies and break through of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons in the effluent air sample collected after carbon treatment <br /> Stratus notified the SJVAPCD of the initial source test termination in letter dated October <br /> 8, 2003, and proposed a second source test start-up after carbon change-out <br /> Upon change-out of granular re-activated carbon with virgin coconut shell carbon, Stratus <br /> notified SJVPACD and conducted the second source test operations on October 22, 2003 <br /> Soil vapors were extracted from wells S-1, S-2, and MW-8, using a 2 3 hp blower rated at <br /> 150 cfm @ 5 inches Hg The extracted petroleum hydrocarbon laden vapors were treated <br /> using the two 1,000 pound virgin coconut shell granular activated carbon units in series - _ --- <br /> prior to discharge to the atmosphere Figure 2 presents the locations of the extraction <br /> wells, remediation system, and other pertinent site features A process flow diagram for <br /> the SVE system is illustrated in Figure 3 <br /> � i <br /> P\USA Gasoline\0065\Reports\USA 65_SecondSourceTestReport doe <br />
