{
Results :
The results from this .limited test suggests that Vapor Extraction
(V.E. ) is a viable mitigation technique for this site . Short
duration V.E . pilot tests can only show initial vapor recovery
and influence; this technique will asperate the subsurface along
the least resistive pathways, ie , permeable strata.
The most extensive and furthest reaching vacuum influence was
from the ground water monitoring wells MW4 and MW8 . A
substantial distance was affected from extraction on the vadose
wells S1 and S2 , however extraction from MW8 was most
influential and was able to capture most of the site, see Field
Notes, Table 2 and Figure 3E. It is most likely that this vacuum
influence could be attributed to a more permeable strata
associated with the ground water aquifer and/or a pathway that is
influenced from the deeper depth ground water wells . The
associated vacuum influence (at similar times from the start of
any given test) is depicted in the contoured maps, Figures 3A
through 3E and the distance to pumping wells in Figures 4A
through 4C.
The results, including 'pounds per hour recovery, from the one
day source test is presented in the Field Notes in Appendix A,
Table 1 and 2 and the vapor results in Apendix B and C.
The services performed by Western Geo-Engineers, a corporation,
under California Registered Geologist #3037 and/or Contractors
License #513857, have been conducted in a manner consistent with
the level of care and skill ordinarily exercised by members
of our profession currently practicing under similar
conditions in the State of California, San Joaquin County and
the city of Lodi . Our work and/or supervision of remediation
and/or abatement operations, active or preliminary, at this site
is in no way meant to imply that we are owners or operators of
this site . Please note that known contamination of soil and/or
ground water must be reported to the appropriate agencies in a
timely manner. No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made .
If you have any questions concerning this workplan or if we can
be of further assistance, please don' t hesitate to contact us .
Sincerely, ED o
/21 JACK E.
NAPPER
Vern A.
