The completed Chain of Custody Record for soil samples
se'ected for testing is included in Appendix B of this report.
$oils Encot}ntered
P3
Plate P-4 gives a summary of the unified Soil Classification
Y System, which was used to identify the soils. The earth
materials encountered at this site consist primarily of units of
silt and fine- to medium-grained sand. Interbedded silt, sandy
silt, silty sand, and sand units were found to depths of
approximately 20 to 25 feet in boreholes 8-1 and B-2. Lensesof
clay and clayey silt were found between 20 and 25 feet. Clayey
silt or silty clay was found between the .30- and 40-foot depths,
sand and silt were found between 40 and 55 feet, and clayey silt
or silty clay occurs below approximately 55 feet in boreholes B-1
and B-2. Silt and sandy silt were encountered in borehole B-3 to
approximately the 48-foot depth. These units are underlain by
sand to.the total depth of B-3. Descriptions of earth materials
encountered in the boreholes B-1 through B-3 are presented on the
Boring Fogs, Plates P-5 through P-10. Readings from the organic
vapor analyzer are also included with the soil descriptions._____ _
Plates P-11 (Crass Section A-A'.) and P-12 (Cross section B-B')
are cross sections that show the approximate distribution of
9
` ,4,o,®oied Geo.Systesrrs
