The locations of the sections are shown
on the Generalized Site Plan, Plate P-3.
I
Conatmction of Monitoring Wells
Ground-water monitoring wells 2.W-1 through MW-3 were installed in
i
boreholes B-1 through B-3, respectively. The total depth of each
well is approximately 60 feet, as indicated on the Boring Logs in
the column labeled "Well Construction". .Each well was completed
with 2-inch inside diameter (schedule 40) polyvinylchloride (PVC)
casing. The casing consists of PVC with 0.020-inch-wide slots
set from the 60-foot depth to the 35-foot depth (approximately 6
to 7 feet above the water table) . Blank PVC casing was set from
the .top of the screened casing to the surface. All casing joints
are flush-threaded. . No glues, chemical cements, or solvents were
used in well construction. The top of each casing was covered
with a slip cap, and the bottom of each casing has a threaded end
plug.
The Annular space of each well was backfilled with No. 3-size
sand from total depth to approximately 4 to 5 feet above the
screened casing (depths of 30 to 31 feet below ground surface) .
A bentonite-pellet plug approximately 1.5 feet thick was placed
above the sand as a seal against cement oittering the sand pack,
- 10
.4,vw/led teoSystelns
