' 20 December 2001
• AGE-NC Project No 98-0497
1 Page 2 of 4
' AGE-prepared and PHS--EHD-approved Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan, dated 09 June
2000 The work was performed to monitor dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations and
other target contaminants in ground water and to characterize ground water flow direction and
' gradient on the site
' 3 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
' On 30 November 2001, a Sohnst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water
from the well casing tops in wells MW-1 through MW-3 The depths to ground water are
summarized in Table 1
' After water levels were gauged, a disposable plastic bailer was used to evacuate (purge) each
monitoring well of a minimum of three casing-water volumes (approximately 6 5 to 7 gallons) of
' water Temperature,pH, and conductivity were measured at regular intervals using an Oakton water
analyzer The field data sheets are included in Appendix A Purged water was stored on site in 55-
gallon drums
32 GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
' Prior to the collection of ground water samples, the depth to ground water was re-measured in each
well to ensure that a minimum. of 80% of the initial water volume had recharged Water samples
' were then collected from each well using a clean, disposable plastic bailer The water was transferred
into one 1-liter amber bottle and two chilled 40-m1 volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials containing
0 5 ml hydrochloric acid(18%) as a sample preservative After collection, the samples were labeled
' and placed in a chilled container for transportation under chain-ofcustody to McCampbell
Analytical Laboratories(MAI),a DHS-certified analytical laboratory Each sample was analyzed for
ta TPH-g and TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified, and
• BTEX and MTBE in accordance with EPA Method 8020
' 4.0. FINDINGS _
Ground water elevation and flow direction were inferred from field data, hydrocarbon-impact to
' ground water was assessed by laboratory analysis of the ground water samples
' Advanced GenEnvitonmenhai,Inc
