' 20 December 2001
AGE-NC Project No 95-0497
' 41 GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT
Ground water elevations were determined by subtracting the measured depths-to-water from the
' surveyed casing elevations The ground water elevation on 30 November 2001 was approximately
37 4 feet below mean sea level(msl),with the average depth to water at 62 3 feet below casing tops
The average ground water elevation in the three wells had decreased 12 feet since the last ground
' water monitoring event Ground water is within the screened Interval of each monitoring well
The ground water gradient for the November 2001 monitoring event was inferred to be 0 0004
' feet/feet with a flow direction toward the east-southeast
4 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS FROM GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' The analytical results from the 30 November 2001 ground water sampling event are as follows
• TPH-g was detected in MW-1 at a concentration of 580 micrograms per liter (gg/l) No
lie BTEX compounds were detected in the ground water samples analyzed The laboratory
report notes the presence of a sheen iii the sample from MW-1 and that the chromatograph
indicates strongly aged gasoline or diesel compounds are significant
' • TPH-d was detected at a concentration 12,000 µg/1 in the sample from well MW-1 The
laboratory report notes the presence of a sheen in the sample from MW-1
' • MTBE was not detected in the three ground water samples collected
' Laboratory results of water samples analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons are summarized in
Table 2 Copies of the laboratory reports for the quarterly monitoring event (MAI Lab IDs 84760
through 84762), QA/QC reports and chain-of-custody form are in Appendix B
5.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
The findings of the 30 November 2001 ground water monitoring event include the following
' Contamination by TPH-g and TPH-d was encountered in groundwater samples collected and
analyzed from MW-I Concentrations of TPH-g appear to have stabilized since the March
2001 monitoring event Concentrations of TPH-d continue to significantly decline
' Advanced GcoEnvironmentai,Inc
1
