27 October 2000
AGE-NC Project No. 98-0497
mg/kg and 40 mg/kg, respectively.
_ No oxygenated compounds, EDB or 1,2-DCA were detected in the soil samples analyzed.
Analytical results of soil samples are summarized on Table 2 and Table 3. The laboratory reports
(MAI Laboratory I.D. No. 45266-45286),quality assurance and quality control(QA/QC)report and
chain-of-custody forms are included in Appendix C.
4.3. GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT
The average relative ground water elevation on 23 August 2000 was approximately 34 feet below
ms], with the average depth of water at 59.23 feet below casing grade. The ground water table
occurred within the screened intervals of the wells monitored.
Ground water was inferred to be flowing east(Figure 3). The ground water gradient was determined
to be approximately 0.013 ft/ft west and down-gradient of the former UST area.
-- 4.4. ANALYTICAL RESULTS FROM GROUND WATER SAMPLES
CAL received, extracted and analyzed the ground water samples on 25 and 28 August 2000.
CAL issued a report dated 07 September 2000. The analytical results from the 23 August 2000
ground water samples are as follows:
• TPH-g was detected in MW-I at a concentration of 5,700 micrograms per liter (µg/l).
Benzene was detected in the ground water sample from well MW-1 at a concentration of
1.7 ig/l. No other BTEX compounds were detected in ground water samples analyzed.
• TPH-d was detected at a concentration 120,000 µg11 in the sample from well MW-1.
• No fuel oxygenates were detected in the three ground water samples collected.
• TBA and ETBE were detected at low concentration in the ground water samples collected
from wells.
Laboratory results of water samples analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons are summarized in
Tables 4 and 5. The laboratory reports for the quarterly monitoring event (CAL Lab Nos. 3178-
1 W through 3178-3W and MAI Lab ID Nos. 46106 through 46108) QA/QC reports and chain-
of-custody form are included in Appendix D.
Advanced GeoEnviroiunental,Inc.
