(MARK) is pleased to submit this letter report summarizing the
findings of the record search conducted of the former Standard Oil Service. Station (now known
asChevron U.S.A. and is referred to as Chevron in this report) located at 2409 East Main Street
in-Stockton, California.
During our Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) and Preliminary Subsurface
i - -
Investigation of the'property in February and April (respectively) of 1995, it was discovered that
an. existing waste oil underground storage tank (UST) and associated sump and transfer line
used- during the former Chevron operation were not removed-from the property. This record
-search was conducted to compile existing records to show that the owner, Sherman S. Hinaman
Trust, was not involved in the day-to-day operation of Chevron and was not aware of the waste
oil UST remaining at the site. after Chevron has vacated the property. Sherman S. Hinaman
Trust was also not aware--of potential release(s) from the.gasoline USTs (which were owned and
operated by Chevron and were removed fro in- property) which have possibly impacted the
underlying soil and-site.
Findinp,s
During this-=investigation, MARK contacted the following agencies to-obtain information
and..records on Chevron's operation at the property:
■ City of Stockton, Finance Department;
■ City of Stockton, Building Department;
■ City of Stockton, Planning Department;
,E City of Stockton, Fire Department;
Hookston Square, Suite 120 3480 Buskirk Avenue Pleasant Hill, CA 94523 (510) 946-1055 FAX(510) 946-9813
