on samples to be selected later A leaching potential test would be run on the sample with
the highest levels of TPHd& TPHg
On September 5, 1997, Del-Tech Geotechnical Support Services developed MW-4, and
purged and sampled MW-1 &MW-4 under the direction of a representative of the San
Joaquin County EHD A copy of that report is included as EXHIBIT D.
SUMMARY OF RESULTS OF WORK DONE TO DATE:
• Both soil & water sample analyses from MW-2 & MW-3 have been below detection
linuts since placement
• TABLE I shows the results of laboratory analyses of soil samples from MW-1, LB-1,
& MW-4
1 Benzene was not measured in soil samples from MW-1, MW-4, or LB-1
2 Toluene was only found in soil samples from MW-1 at 48 5', 58 5', and 68 5'
It was below detection limits in both MW-4 & LB-1
. 3 Very low concentrations of ethylbenzene were measured at 15', 20', 25' & 30' in
MW-4, at 3 i', 36', and 41' m LB-1, at 48 5', 56', and 58 5' in MW-1
4 Xylene was detected at very low levels inmost soil samples from 15' to 70'
5 TPH as gasoline was measured in soil samples from LB-1, but was below
detection limits in both MW-1 & MW-4
6 TPH as diesel was recorded at varying concentrations in most soil samples
• TABLE H summarizes the results of soil sample analyses from MW-4 Copies of the
laboratory reports and custody chains are included as EXHIBIT E.
• TABLE III summarizes the results of the water samples taken on 9/5/1997 from
MW-1 & MW-4 Benzene was measured at 0 3 ug/L in MW-4, it was ND in MW-1
Toluene & ethylbenzene were ND in both wells Xylene was ND in MW-1, but
measured 1 0 ug/L in MW-4 TPHg was ND in both wells TPHd was detected at
151 ug/L in MW-1 & 3030 ug/L in MW-4 It is interesting to note that benzene has
never been measured in any of the soil samples, but has been present in very minor
amounts in some water samples
5
