gravel packed perforations with Lonestar sieve mix # 2/12
from 83 1/2 ' to 66' (2 1/2" above perfs . ) , hydrated
bentonite pellets from 66 ' to 631 . Packing was done with
flights in hole to ensure placement of gravel . The well was
' then cemented from 63 ' to the surface with a cement, 2%
bentonite slurry, pumped into the annulus using a tremie
' hose .
SURFACE COMPLETION
' All three wells were completed at the surface, using a
Universal Well Vault, marked "Observation Monitor Well " . The
well vault was cemented in place with cement-sand grout and
' marked as Nos . 1 , 2 and 3 . The cast iron top is screwed on
requiring a socket wrench to remove, inside, the well casing
is plugged with an expandable, locking cap, keys left at
' Marci Diesel across the street.
WELL DEVELOPMENT
' On April 8, 1992, all three wells were developed using rods
and a rubber disk surge block (different sizes for the 2"
and 4" wells) . Each well was surged for about 15 minutes and
' then bailed with appropriate sized bailers until 5 volumes
of the standing head in each well had been removed. Water
samples were not collected This was done at a later time by
Del Tech Geotechnical Services as detailed below.
RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLE TESTS
CHART A
' SOIL SAMPLES TAKEN APRIL 3 & 7, 1992
Units • mg/kg = ppm
ND = not detectable at limit shown
t EPA: 8020: DLR . 005 mg/kg
5030 : DLR 1 . 0 mg/kg
* Diluted sample owing to instrument saturation
' Benzene Toluene E'Benzene Xylene (TPH--G) (TPH-D)
' MW # 1 EPA. 8020 EPA. 5030
SAMPLE #
1 @ 26' ND ND ND ND ND ND
' 2 @ 36 ' ND ND ND ND ND 140
3 @ 48 . 5 ' ND . 033* . 030* .240* ND 66
4 @ 58 . 5 ' ND . 020* .025* .034* ND 69
5 @ 68 . 5 ND . 012* ND .094* ND 21
6 @ 77 ' ND ND ND ND ND 2 .9
' 6
