Geological Teclnics Inc. Page 3
i soil &Groundwater Investigation Report
Marci Property
Project No. 701.2
4 July 24,2002
2.1.2. Laboratory Analysis
Based on field screening observations, up to three soil samples from each borehole were
submitted to Sherwood Laboratories of Hilmar (State Certified Laboratory #1400) for the
following analyses:
• Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylene (BTEX) by EPA method 8020
• Gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH-G) by EPA method 5030/8015(m) }
j Diesel range petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH-D) by EPA method 3540/8015(in)
I The detection limits for these compounds are listed in Table 1 of Appendix A. A Chain of
Custody was completed for all samples collected and tracked to ensure sample integrity. -Vol
As required under AB2886, the laboratory data were submitted electronically to GeoTracker
on July I8, 2002 (confinnation#s 73 901 23 1 88
2.2 Monitoring Well Installation
The monitoring wells were constructed using 2-inch diameter PVC casing with flush
threads. The table below shows the construction details. The filter packs were surged
during placement to insure maximum filter pack density.
Well No. Dia./TD Screen Slot Sand Pack Trans,
Grout Seal
Seal
l MW-7 2"/70' 55-70' 0.010" #2/12 sand 53-70' 51-53' 0-51'
MW-8 2"/70' 55-70' 0.010" #2/12 sand 53-70'. ` 51-53' 0-51'
MW-104 2"/95' 90-95' 0.010" #2/12 sand 88-95' 85-88' 0-85'
MW-106 2"/95' 90-95' 0.010" #2/12 sand 88-95' 85-88' 0-85'
E
A surface seal was achieved by pumping a neat cement grout via a tremmie tube
(augmented with <4% ben.tonite) to the surface. The wells were secured with locking
i watertight caps encased in flush mounted traffic-rated well boxes.
3.0 WELL DEVELOPMENT & SAMPLING
The wells were developed acid subsequently sampled on June 7, 2002. This work will be
detailed in GTI's forthcoming "2"" Quarter 2002 Groundwater Monitoring Report" to be
submitted in August 2002.
4.0 RESULTS OF INVESTIGATION
The analytical results and field observations are discussed below. Summary analytical data
are included in Table 1 in Appendix A. Boring logs are included in Appendix B. A site snap
-- with soil boring locations, and geologic cross sections are included as Figures 2 through 6.
