a
a
i
Fuller Mobile Home Park
365 East Louise, Lathrop, California !h
i
Phaas*II Remedial Work Plan
Additional Site Characterization If
1.0 Project Identification)
This project has been developed to further investigate an underground storage tank release
at the Fuller Mobile Home Park!;property located at 365 E. Louise Avenue, in Lathrop,
California(Figure 1). The Phase',II work will further explore the vertical and lateral extent
:of the gasoline and diesel contamination disclosed in the first two phases of work and will
involve a program of quarterly groundwater monitoring.
2 0 Site Description and 'History
On September 7, 1990, SEMCd under permit, removed Fuller Mobile Home Park's fuel
facility, which consisted of two underground storage tanks; a 550 gallon diesel tank and a
;1000 gallon gasoline tank. Soil samples taken from beneath the tanks disclosed
concentrations of gasoline, diesetil and BTX&E.
On March 31 and April 1,1992,PW Environmental Consultants, Inc., dulled four soil
borings in the vicinity of the former underground tanks and obtained groundwater samples
from the borings through a stainless steel well casing. Soil samples for laboratory analysis
were obtained at 5 and 12.5 feet'in depth. All five foot samples were non-detect. All of
the 12.5 foot soil and groundwater samples had varying concentrations of gasoline, diesel,
and BTX&E. i
II
On November 17 & 18, 1993, WHF Environmental drilled three soil borings I d completed
them as groundwater monitoring wells MW-1, 2 & 3. The wells were located on the shoulder
of the proposed storm water retention pond (Figure 2), and were used to determine the
groundwater gradient and to define he soil and groundwater contamination(Appendix A).
I
Laboratory soil samples were take) from all three borings at five and ten feet below ground
level. Two soil samples from 'each boring were selected for analysis based on odor,
discoloration, and previous findings by the registered professional in order to demonstrate a
clean lateral interface
Analyses of the soil samples disclosed BTEX, Gasoline&Diesel contamination in the samples
below 10 feet, except for one isolated.gasoline analysis at five feet in boring MW-2- This
sample was probably from woodcutting (chainsaw) activities and shop/garage activities
immediately adjacent to the well. No BTEX or Diesel contamination was detected.
