f
CAMBRIA
Based on the perched water analytical results, SJCEHD has requested that additional
investigation be conducted in the northwestern dispenser area.
` Technical Rationale for Proposed Scope of Work
• TPHg and benzene have been detected in soil near the northwestern dispenser. The
vertical extent of TPHg and benzene in soil is defined at 35 fbg by boring B-1. The
lateral extent of TPHg and benzene in soil is defined to the east and south by results from
boring B-2 and SB-1, respectively. Fuel oxygenates have not been detected in soil from
this area.
Perched water was encountered at approximately 14.7 fbg in soil boring B-1, located
immediately west of the northwestern dispenser. The sample collected at 17 fbg in
boring B-1 was not saturated, delineating the vertical extent of the perched water zone.
The boring log for B-1 is included in Appendix A.
f • TPHg and benzene were detected in a.grab water sample from the perched water zone
described above. The lateral extent of the perched zone is delineated to the east and
south by results from boring B-2 and SB-1, respectively, as it was not encountered in
either boring. The boring logs from these borings are included in Appendix A.
• Cambria proposes to drill two soil borings north and west of the northwestern dispenser
to determine the-lateral extent of the perched water zone and to assess petroleum impact
to that zone. The borings will be advanced to a depth to confirm vertical delineation of
the perched zone has been achieved.
f Work Tasks
Permit: Cambria will obtain a well permit from SJCEHD.
Site Safety Plan: A Site Safety Plan will be prepared for field work.
Utility Clearance: Proposed drilling locations will be marked and their locations cleared through
Underground Service Alert prior to drilling.
0832 3
