li
G
CAMBRIA
Site Investigation: Two soil borings (B-3.and B-4) are proposed as shown on Figure 2. Boring
B-3 is proposed north of the northwestern dispenser, and boring B-4 is proposed west of the
northwestern dispenser. The borings will be advanced to 20 fbg using Geoprobe equipment.
A.Cambria geologist will supervise the drilling and describe encountered soil using the Unified
Soil Classification System and Munsell Soil Color Charts. Soil samples will be collected
continuously for description and at five-foot intervals for possible chemical analyses and organic
vapor screening with a photo-ionization detector (PID). PID readings will be recorded on the
boring log for each boring.
If the perched water zone is encountered, a water sample will.be collected from each boring
using Geoprobe°water sampling equipment, and the thickness of the perched.water will be noted
on the boring-log for each boring. If the perched zone is not encountered, a soil sample will be
collected at 15 fbg in each boring.
Soil samples designated for chemical analyses will be retained in acetate sleeves. The sleeves
will be covered on both ends with Teflon sheets and plastic end caps. Groundwater samples will
be collected in vials preserved with hydrochloric acid with no headspace. Soil and groundwater
samples will be labeled, entered onto a chain-of-custody record, and placed into a cooler with ice
for transport to a State of California certified laboratory for analyses. A standard two week turn-
around time will be requested for laboratory results.
Chemical Analyses: Groundwater samples and selected soil samples will be analyzed for TPHg
and BTEX by EPA Method 8015M/8021 or equivalent and fuel oxygenates (MTBE, tertiary
amyl methyl ether, ethyl tertiary butyl ether, tertiary butanol, and di-isopropyl ether) -by EPA
Method 8260.
Report Preparation: Following the receipt of analytical results from the laboratory, Cambria
will prepare a written report which will include field procedures, laboratory results, boring logs,
and conclusions. ,
The scope of work described in this work plan will be performed under the supervision of a
registered geologist.
l
t
i
0832 4
_j.
