Analytical in Bothell, Washington,
which is accredited by California DHS (FLAP 1267) Anal}tical data are included as
Appendix A to this letter report, and indicate that significant contamination remains at
this property
DISCUSSION
Water level readings qualify earlier readings completed in 1989, indicating the general
groundwater gradient to be to a northeasterly direction (see notes above and
Appendix C) Overall water level appears to have dropped some 6 feet which is likely
partially due to the earlier, 1989, measurements being taken from ground level rather
1 than top of well casing and partially due to the drought conditions over the last few
years The site itself is level
1 Water quality in the wells appears to be contaminated in a generally comparable manner
to the 1989 monitoring event with exception of MW-3, which has deteriorated
significantly in quality (see Appendices A and B)
Increase
in the groundwater contamination at the location of MW-3 Indicates some
upgradient "mounding", presuming the source to be located prommal to MW-1
As a result of this information, we suggest that SRK's "Proposed Subsurface Investigation
dated August 1991 and amended by letter dated September 30, 1991 be further amended to
include a borehole located west of existing monitor well MW-3 at the fence line, and that this
additional borehole be developed as a monitor well if gross contamination is identified
1 We await your review and response to this Iciter report prior to proceeding with this
investigation Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions
With regards,
STEEFFEN ROBERTSON AND KIRSTEN (U S ) INC
' Rob Gwilym, C P G
Principal, Senior Environmental Geoscientist
RG/sal
Enclosures
cc Ann Arney - Dallas
nw.ria.., ,•. slerren
Robcnson anJ Kirsic•
