April 11, 2007 <br /> NOA Project Number: E07055A <br /> 3.0 SOIL SAMPLING PROCEDURES <br /> 3.1 Drilling Details <br /> All drilling activities will be performed by NOA. <br /> 3.1.1 Drilling Method <br /> The boring(s) in the vicinity of the former underground storage tank will be advanced with a <br /> 3- or 4-inch diameter hand auger. The soil cuttings brought to the surface will be examined <br /> and placed on plastic. Disposal will be based on the analytical results or field observations. <br /> 3.1.2 Boring Abandonment <br /> All borings will be sealed and abandoned in accordance with EHD requirements. A <br /> representative of the EHD may be present to approve all grouting activities. <br /> 3.2 Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Procedures <br /> Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures will be used to minimize the potential <br /> for contamination of soil samples. The QA/QC procedures may include the use of single-use <br /> sampling equipment, decontamination of drilling and sampling equipment by washing with a <br /> solution of potable water and Liquid-Nox solution or equivalent between borings, use of one <br /> duplicate sample per day, changing latex protective gloves after each sample, and recording <br /> sample information on chain-of-custody forms. <br /> 3.3 Soil Sample Laboratory Tests <br /> Soil samples will be transported to a California state certified analytical laboratory where the <br /> following Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) tests will be performed: TPH-g, TPH-d, and <br /> BTEX by 8015/8021 B. <br /> 3 '-'44 <br />
