An underground <br /> storage tank cluster consisting of three 10,000 gallon tanks is <br /> �j located to the northwest of the station building. Two 'tanks in <br /> F the cluster. ar_e currently being used to store gasoline. The <br /> ._ � third tank stored diesel. fuel <br /> product prior to not passing a <br /> ti precision test. At the time of our investigation, this tank was <br /> empty but was in the tank pit. The tops of the three tanks were <br /> exposed as a result of excavation for the pressure testing. The <br /> approximate location of the tank cavity is shown on the <br /> Generalized Site Plan. Plate P-2 shows the property and <br /> i, <br /> approximate locations of the service station facilities. <br /> FIELD WORK <br /> soil borings were drilled using a truck-mounted Mobile B-61 <br /> } <br /> drilling rig operated by Datum Exploration of Pittsburg, <br /> California. The 'rig was equipped with eight-inch and ten-inch <br /> cotSnuous flight hollow stem augers. . Auger flights <br /> i; were steam cleaned prior to use to. minbTiize .the-possibility of <br /> down hale or cross contamination.
