Soil samples <br /> selected for testing were analyzed for total extractable <br /> hydrocarbons (TEH) , total volatile hydrocarbons (TVH) , and <br /> volatile hydrocarbon constituents; benzene, ethylbenzene, <br /> toluene, and xylene .(BETX) . Water samples were analyzed for <br /> total volatile hydrocarbons (TVH) , and volatile hydrocarbon <br /> constituents; benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, and xylene (BETX) . <br /> Soil samples were analyzed for total volatile hydrocarbons using <br /> c <br /> EPA method 8020, which was facilitated through solvent extraction <br /> as described in EPA method 5030. Soil samples were also analyzed <br /> for total extractable hydrocarbons using EPA method 3550 for <br /> extraction. All analyses were . <br /> y performed according to guidelines <br /> established by the California Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board utilizing gas chr�,matography and photo- and flame- <br /> ionization detection.
