The subsurface
geology is primarily fine to coarse grained sand. A silt layer was encountered from 13 to 16
feet bgs. The excavation backfill extended down to 9 feet bgs.
Groundwater was encountered at 16 feet.
1.4 Distribution of Contaminants
I
Laboratory tests show that the soil samples collected from 10 and 15 feet bgs and the
groundwater sample collected from 17-20 feet bgs.,.were non-detect for all analytes.
Observations in the field by OVM. and sensory queues corroborates with the lab data and
I
shows contamination is not present in the soil samples collected from the surface to 18 feet
j bgs.
2.0 CONCLUSIONS
The following conclusions can be made:
• The laboratory test results show that the soil and groundwater beneath the tank pit are not
impacted by gasoline compounds.
• No further investigative activities should take place at this site and it should recive a
letter of closure.
L 3.0 LIMITATIONS
This report was prepared in accordance with the accepted standards and practices of the field
of environmental geology, groundwater hydrology and good business practices. It should be
recognized that definition and evaluation of environmental conditions is a difficult and
inexact science. Judgments leading to conclusions and recommendations are generally made
with an incomplete knowledge of the site-specific conditions present.
The tasks proposed and completed during this project were reviewed and approved by the
local regulatory agency for`compliance with the law.
