WOW
California Stop Page 2
2224 Manthey Road October 15, 2008
Stockton, California 95206
The EHD believes that additional monitoring wells are needed to assess the lateral extent of the
MTBE plume and confirm current groundwater analytical results. Data acquired from the CPT
investigation can be utilized to determine the number, location, and screened intervals for future
monitoring wells.
Based on current lithological and analytical data, the EHD recommends six monitoring wells be
installed, four screened between ten and thirty feet bsg, and two screened between seventy and
eighty feet bsg. The EHD suggests the following locations for the monitoring wells:
• One shallow well located across Manthey Road near soil boring 138;
• One shallow well located approximately 80 feet northwest of MW-8;
• One shallow well located approximately 50 feet northwest of MW-7;
• One shallow well located approximately 100 feet east of MW-4/MW-6;
• One deep well located adjacent to MW-1, and
• One deep well located adjacent to MW-8.
The EHD suspects that the two deeper wells may demonstrate the vertical extent of impacted
groundwater. Please respond with either a work plan for monitoring well installations or your
comments to the above recommendations by January 22, 2009. If you have any questions, please
contact Vicki McCartney, Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist, at (209)468-9852 or
by email at vm ccartney(o)sjcehd.com.
Sincerely,
Victoria L.
