• FOURTH QUARTER, 2002 <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT <br /> AND ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT REPORT <br /> JAMAR OIL DISTRIBUTION <br /> MARCH 2003 <br /> According to the CPT data for CPT-2, which was located east of the subject site in the sidewalk <br /> in front of the hamburger stand, there are five somewhat distinct hthologic units beneath this part <br /> of the investigation area There is an upper, interbedded salt and clay with manor sand unit <br /> between 3 and 64-feet bgs, an upper interbedded sand and stiff, fine-grained material unit between <br /> 64 and 71-feet bgs, a riddle interbedded silt and clay with minor sand unit between 71 and 100- <br /> feet bgs, a lower sand to silty sand unit between 100 and 110-feet bgs, and a lower interbedded <br /> silt and clay with minor sand unit that begins 110-feet bgs and extends beyond 122-feet bgs We <br /> dad not have enouglihollo Z ods to extend past 122-feet bgs <br /> According to the CPT data for CPT-3, which was located southeast of the subject site and south <br /> of Main Street, there are four reasonably distinct lithologic units beneath this part of the <br /> investigation area There is an upper, interbedded silt and clay with minor sand unit between 3 <br /> and 58-feet bgs, an upper interbedded sand and stiff, fine-grained material unit between 58 and <br /> 70-feet bgs, a lower interbedded salt and clay unit between 70 and 94-feet bgs, and <br /> a lower sand, salt and staff, fine-grained material unit that begins 94-feet bgs and extends beyond <br /> 117-feet bgs The CPT boring encountered refusal at 117-feet bgs in CPT-3 There were some <br /> technical difficulties between the CPT rod and the CPT computer program whale CPT-3 was <br /> being drilled and the data below 60-feet bgs as not as detailed as that for the other two CPT <br /> boring logs <br /> The CPT logs were analyzed and used to select intervals for collecting soil and groundwater <br /> samples from twinned geoprobe borings drilled adjacent to each CPT boring <br /> Geoprobe Investigation <br /> On January 15-16, 2003, geoprobe borings (HP-1 through HP-3) were installed at the locations <br /> shown on Figure 4 The locations were selected to increase understanding of the easterly and <br /> southeasterly extent of impacted soil and groundwater, and to provide a basis for locating two <br /> additional monitoring wells The geoprobes were advanced to depths of 100-feet bgs an HP-1 and <br /> HP-3 and to 104-feet bgs an HP-2 <br /> Three soil samples were collected from three different depths and lathologies from each geoprobe <br /> boring The different lithologies were identified using the CPT logs The soil samples were used <br /> for identification of soil type and for laboratory analysis In HP-1, soil samples were collected <br /> from a clayey silt layer at 15-feet bgs, from a silty sand layer at 28-feet bgs, and from a salt layer at <br /> 44-feet bgs <br /> 6 <br />
