Beacon Station No.474 June 5, 1998
Stockton,California Work Plan
E wells may be tested to evaluate the effectiveness of vapor extraction on other
stratigraphic zones and wells.
At the completion of the VET the vacuum will be shut off while air is injected
i
into air-sparge well AS-1 by a Gast 1 horsepower oilless rotary vane
compressor for approximately six hours. Then a combination ASIVET will be
' conducted for approximately two hours in length, which may be increased or
'G decreased depending on the field results.
? 1
A Selected monitoring wells will be monitored fore influence of the air-sparging
} by testing for dissolved oxygen, vapor pressure, and other related parameters to
J
4 evaluate the effectiveness of the tests. Monitoring of the VET and ASNET
. will be performed"in 15 to 30 minute increments for the duration of the tests. }
The influent, midpoint, and effluent vapor streams will be monitored to confirm
abatement efficiency. Monitoring equipment will include a Horiba
hydrocarbon analyzer for measuring hydrocarbon concentrations, averaging
`r pitot tubes for measuring flow rates, and differential pressure gauges for
monitoring change's in air pressure on selected wells. Vapor samples will be
collected at the end of the tests from the influent vapor stream prior to entering 9
the blower and from the effluent vapor stream after exiting the second carbon
vessel. Vapor samples will be collected with a sampling pump into Tedlar bags
yand transported under COC and submitted for laboratory analyses for TPHg
'k and BTEX.
} j k
. Task 4 Prepare and submit a report detailing field methods, results, and conclusions of
the investigation and summarizing results of the site assessment to date with +
s
recommendations :'for remedial action. If sufficient data is collected,;'a
11 iI
I Corrective Action Plan (CAP) will be prepared.
ell-
4 1474-22.wp 5 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC.
