An electronic copy of the report is available in the ftp link below(skip past the first page).
ftp://s0119163541:1864041 @ftppt p stantec.com
To answer as many of your questions as possible:
• 1 have attached a copy of some internal notes from Unocal discussing the UST removals. If you ignore
the frustrations being vented towards San Joaquin County, the notes provide some detail regarding what
was happening during the UST removals. 095
• °'The USTs were removed on October 25, 1996. The USTs were then transported to H&H.Environmental
I Services facility in San Francisco, CA for disposal(see Section 4.7.2 of Delta's report). .
i
• Tank Excavators (possibly Valenzuela Engineering?)collected sidewall and bottom samples from the
UST pit(see Section 4.7.3 of Delta's report). The samples were submitted to Sequoia Labs and analyzed
for TPHd, TPHg, and BTEX; other than two TPHd detections of 1.9 mg/kg and 2.0 mg/kg, all samples
were non-detect (see Section 4.7.4 of Delta's report).
• The backhoe was digging around the ballasted tanks while installing shoring in preparation for removing
the USTs (see Section 4.7 of Delta's report).
• Reviewing Delta's report, it appears the 1982 USTs were removed on October 24, while the.UST pit was
over-excavated on October 25, 1996 to accommodate the new, larger USTs.
• 1 could not locate any hauling or disposal manifests associated with the USTs.
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.
Benjamin Chevlen,P.G. -
Senior Geologist
Stantec
Ph: (805)230-1266 Ext.293 -
Fx: .(805)230-1277
Cell: (916)425-4849 - - -
benjamin.chevien@stantec.com
stantec.com
The content of this email is the confidential property of Stantec and should not be copied, modified, retransmitted,or used for
any purpose except with Stantec's written authorization.
