Let me get the information for the items
outlined below from the ConocoPhillips group responsible for obtaining access agreements. I should have
it all by tomorrow.. .
q..
Stantec is currently in the process of performing fate transport modeling of the site's MTBE plume. A
cursory glance at historical MTBE concentrations in groundwater suggest the MTBE plume may not be
stable..The shallow depth to water (6 to 10 feet bgs) makes understanding the nature and extent of the
remaining dissolved-phase contamination important. As is documented in a sensitive receptor survey for
the site, prepared by Stantec, and issued earlier, today, an irrigation well installed in 1992, and screened
from 102-142 feet bgs; is located approximately 1,300 feet west of the site (cross- to down-gradient).
Onsite -the operation of an ozone system appears to have effectively remediated the site. The ozone
system was shut down in August 2009, Stantec will be monitoring for rebound in onsite contaminant
concentrations.
Assuming onsite hydrocarbon concentrations don't rebound, and the results of proposed batch extractions
and/or fate transport modeling and (if needed)additional groundwater samples collected from the area of
proposed well cluster MW-11 are favorable, then the site should be qualified for NFA.
Benjamin Chevlen,P.G. - -
Senior Geologist
Stantec
Ph: (916)384-0745
Fx: (916)861-0430
Cell: (916)425-4849 -
benjamin.chevien@stantec.com
stantec.com
The content of this email is the confidential property of Stantec and should not be copied, modified, retransmitted,or
used for any purpose except with Stantec's written authorization.
