INTERNATIONAL
TECHNOLOGY
CORPORATIONrF
0 C T 0 9 199'
October 3, 1991 ENVIRONMENTAL I
PERMIT/SERVIC
Mr. Mike Infurna
Public Health Services - San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Division
445 N. San Joaquin
Stockton, CA 95201
Addendum to "Soil Remediation Proposal"
IT Corporation, July 1991
BP Oil Station #11190
1206 March Lane
Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Infurna:
The following is an addendum to the above referenced document, as per our conversation of
October 2, 1991. It is our understanding that this site will be covered under the San Joaquin
County "Limited Excavation Policy", if we provide you with certain additional information.
The three items we discussed were: over excavation, disposal, and subsequent soil boring
activities. These items will be discussed separately in the following sections.
Over Excavation
During excavation procedures, the tanks and all associated backfill material will be removed.
If any hydrocarbon impacted soils are encountered beneath the backfill, these areas will be
additionally excavated to a maximum depth of 12 feet or 2 feet into native material
(whichever comes first) with the amount of over excavated soil totaling no more than 50 y&.
Figures 1 through 4 show the anticipated excavation limits and anticipated over excavation
limits. Potential over excavation zones were identified based on inspection records which
revealed tanks 2 & 5 have failed pressure tests and that the dispenser located at the east end
of the outer pump island had (at one time) a cracked impact housing.
Adjustments may be made in the field with the approval of the onsite San Joaquin County
Health Department representative.
Regional Office
4585 Pacheco Boulevard•Martinez,California 94553•415-372-9100
IT Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of International Technology Corporation
