1%W INTERNA`i'16NAL TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION
Mr. Mike Infurna
October 3, 1991
Page 2
Disposal
As discussed in Section 5.4 of the Soil Remediation Proposal, it is anticipated that the
excavated soils will be classified as non hazardous, and removed from the site by Eight Ball
Trucking to the Remco Incineration Facility in Port Costa, CA.
To comply with self certification procedures, four composite soil samples per soil stockpile
will be collected and analyzed by the Title 22, LC50 fish toxicity test (96 hr) and for metals
by EPA method 6010 (full scan). The resultant analytical data will be submitted to the San
Joaquin County Health Department's Site Mitigation Unit for review and approval, prior to
disposal of the stockpiles.
Soil Borings
As discussed in Section 5.5.2 of the Soil Remediation Proposal, an investigative soil boring
phase will be initiated if contamination is still present in the tank pit following the completion
of over excavation efforts. The purpose of the borings will be to define the lateral and
vertical extent of hydrocarbon migration. In the event that this phase is deemed necessary,
the scheduling and methodology will be addressed under separate cover. A permit application
and the appropriate fees will be submitted at that time.
I hope this addendum has sufficiently addressed your concerns. If you have any further
questions or comments, please contact me at (510) 372-9100.
I appreciate you assistance in this matter and look forward to working together on this
project.
Sincerely,
Sydney ::sy
IT Corporation
Project Manager
SM:mr
MZ:UST:0021 MER
