' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> USA Petroleum Corporation (USA) has retained Part. Environmental Corporation (Park) to <br /> represent USA in matters pertaining to environmental issues at its facility located at 2132 <br /> Mariposa Road, Stockton, California, as shown on Figure 1 USA has authonzed Park to <br />' prepare this workplan for groundwater momtonng well installation at the subject site <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) in their <br /> ' letter dated January 4, 1994 has requested that additional soil borings/monitoring wells be <br /> installed as needed until the extent of the soil and groundwater contaminant plumes have been <br /> 1 characterized In addition, the PHS/EHD has requested monitoring wells be installed in the <br /> downgradient flow direction identified for this site <br /> ' Total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) compounds previously detected in groundwater have been <br /> reported as gasoline The source(s) of this TPH product has not been identified There is a need <br /> to install additional monitoring wells as requested by PHSIEHD and continue the quarterly <br /> ' groundwater monitoring program <br /> 11 Purpose <br /> ' The purpose of the investigation is to evaluate the source(s) of the TPH release(s) Tasks <br /> described in this workplan include the following <br /> • Install three groundwater monitoring wells off-site, <br /> ' 0 Collect and analyze soil samples during oil-site monitoring well construction, <br /> • Assess the groundwater flow direction and hydraulic gradient, and <br /> ' 0 Collect and analyze water samples as part of the quarterly groundwater <br /> ' monitoring program <br /> 12 Scope of Work <br /> ' The scope of work to be performed by Park includes the following <br /> ' Obtain all required permits for the drilling and installation of groundwater <br /> monitoring wells, <br /> ' Drill and install three groundwater monitoring wells to depths of approximately <br /> 85-feet below the ground surface (bgs) It is anticipated that first groundwater is <br /> at approximately 75-feet bgs, <br />
