Weber Ave., Fourth Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br /> Subject: Revised Workplan for Underground 'Fuel Tank In-Place Abandonment at BJJ <br /> Company, Inc. located.at 2431 .East Mariposa Road, Stockton, California. <br /> Dear Mr. Knoll, <br /> ATC Associates Inc. has prepared this letter=report on behalf of BJJ Company, Inc. to serve as an <br /> addendum to a previous report titled Revised Preliminary Report%Workplan for the Underground <br /> Fuel Tank In-Place Abandonment. This previous report was prepared by WaterWork <br /> Corporation and dated May 7, 1990. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> BJJ Company, Inc. operates a, truck terminal facility at the subject site.(Figure 1). Three <br /> underground fuel storage tanks are maintained at the facility. Two of the tanks are newly installed <br /> double walled tanks used to contain diesel for company trucks. These tanks are located near the <br /> facility entrance. The other tank is a 3,500-gallon underground tank located partially beneath one <br /> of the maintenance buildings. Due.to the location of the tank, BJJ Company, Inc. requested and <br /> received conditional.approval for in-place abandonment from the Montezuma 'Fire Protection <br /> District. Additionally, BJJ Company, Inc. -submitted a completed Underground Storage Tank <br /> Closure Permit Application and associated fee to San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> Environmental Health Division(PHS/EHD)to abandon the tank in place. Figure 2 depicts the tank <br /> and piping locations relative to other-facility features. <br /> On June 15,-1990, at the request of PHS/EHD, Waterwork Corporation personnel advanced two <br /> angled soil borings(ASB-1 and ASB-2)beneath the existing tank. These borings were advanced at <br /> 45° from vertical and terminated'beneath the longitudinal centerline of the tank approximately 5 <br /> feet beneath the tank bottom. Soil samples were collected and analyzed for total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) by EPA Method 8015, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and <br /> W:1943041reports\UST dosumdoc 1 <br />
