Used absorbent and oil soaked cardboard box found in the 55 gallon drum labeled as "Trash". . <br /> Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Make a <br /> hazardous waste determination for the used absorbent and oil soaked cardboard, and manage it <br /> according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Provide proof of corrective action to the EHD within <br /> 30 days of receiving this report. The technician removed the bag containing the used absorbent and oil <br /> soaked cardboard box from the trash and placed it in a container labeled with hazardous waste label. <br /> Avoid future occurrences. <br /> 11 and 79. Several broken fluorescent found in the universal waste storage lockers. Facilities shall be <br /> maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to <br /> air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately clean the <br /> contaminated area using the proper method to clean mercury contaminated dust, and manage according <br /> to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining <br /> how this waste was managed within 30 days of receiving this report. <br /> 22. Acid leaks were observed at the lead acid batteries storage area also lid missing from one of the <br /> battery. A damaged battery shall be managed so as to minimized the release of acid and lead and to <br /> protect the handlers and the environment, including at a minimum; (1) stored and transported in a <br /> nonreactive, structurally secure, closed container capable of preventing the release of acid and lead; (2) <br /> labeled with the initial date of accumulation, written in ink or other weather resistant material, so that it is <br /> legible and conspicuous; (3) packed in a manner that prevents tipping, spilling, or breaking <br /> Immediately manage and label the damaged lead acid battery in accordance with Title 22 regulations. <br /> Provide proof of corrective action within 30 days of receiving this report. <br /> 24. Failed to manage incompatible wastes in containers properly. At time of inspection, facility was <br /> storing mixed waste aerosol cans, without any knowledge of compatibility. Immediately, segregate <br /> incompatible wastes. All incompatible wastes must be managed and stored separately.
