Upon receipt, HHW staff will screen to determine if a substance is used cooking oil by: <br />• Examining the container: used cooking oil often arrives in cooking oil containers. <br />• Examining the appearance: used cooking oil has a specific appearance. <br />. ( A§king the resident to verify that the contents are used cooking oil. <br />Used cooking oil will be managed as a non -hazardous waste. <br />112.) The local contacts section of the HHW contingency plan (attached) has been updated to <br />reflect the move of Hazardous Materials services from the Office of Emergency Services <br />to the Environmental Health Department. The updated plan has been placed in the <br />operations binder at the SJC HHW facility. <br />121.) Of the 51 manifests referenced in the inspection report, eight (8) were not generated by <br />the San Joaquin County Household Hazardous Waste Facility and have been removed <br />from the onsite folder of manifests. The remaining 43 have been re -sent to DTSC, via <br />certified mail, with a request that DTSC provide the status of those manifests in the <br />DTSC manifest database. Proof of certified mailing is attached to this report. <br />122-124.) Signed copies of the following manifests are attached: 000051553 DAT, 000038672 <br />DAT, 000038562 DAT, 000064060 DAT, 000064206 DAT and 000061591 DAT. Please <br />note that Manifests 000062338 DAT, 000069511 DAT and 000069708 DAT were not <br />generated at the HHW, and have been removed from the onsite folder of manifests. <br />In the effort to have 3 years' worth of manifests from the designated facility at the SJC <br />HHW site, a process has now been developed, and is in place, to track signed manifests <br />not received after 30 days.
