O <br /> (209) 468-3420 <br /> CITY OF STOCKTON SEP 0 61994 <br /> HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT <br /> 305 N ELDORADO STREET SUITE 200 <br /> STOCKTON CA 95202 <br /> RE: Mckinley/Turnpike Redevelopment Project <br /> Site Assessment <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health <br /> Department (PHS/EHD) has reviewed the Supplemental Environmental <br /> Site Assessment submitted by Earth Systems Environmental, Inc . , <br /> dated May 4 , 1993 , and has the following comments. <br /> Further site assessment is needed in order to evaluate these <br /> properties for a possible referral to the Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) in the event groundwater <br /> proves to be impacted. <br /> In an attempt to provide a needed service to San Joaquin County <br /> property owners desiring to secure site investigations for non-tank <br /> related contamination, PHS/EHD have recently met with CVRWQCB to <br /> establish and revise the contamination referral process . <br /> PHS/EHD will provide oversight of the water quality cases through <br /> the preliminary investigation and the problem assessment report and <br /> review for closure if no contamination or no threat to water <br /> quality is found to exist . <br /> If significant soil or groundwater contamination is noted during <br /> PHS/EHD' s oversight, the site wil be referred to the CVRWQCB for <br /> eventual prioritization. <br /> If there are any questions, please contact Michael Collins, REHS, <br /> at 209-468-0338 . <br /> Donna Heran, REHS, Director <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> Mich el Collins, REHS Diane M. son, REHS <br /> Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor <br /> MC <br /> A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Service. <br />
