KLE/NFELOER
Bright People.Right Solutions.
2 SCOPE OF WORK
The proposed scope of work was prepared in accordance with the objectives outlined
by the City of Manteca. The objectives of the City were based on the results of the soil
sampling analyses performed by others( Wallace-Kuhl 8767.02, Report of Findings, Soil
Sampling and Analysis, City of Manteca Corporation Yard, 280, 316, and 410 South
Main Street, Manteca, California dated July 2, 2010).
2.1 PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD
Kleinfelder will coordinate with the City of Manteca to obtain permission for site access.
Kleinfelder assumes one pre-work site meeting to verify where sample locations will
occur. Prior to soil sampling activities, the soil sampling areas will be marked in white
paint. Underground Service Alert (USA) will be contacted at least 48 hours prior to
conducting field work to notify local utilities of the proposed subsurface work. USA
provides a partial location service free of charge for major utility lines. Please be aware
that USA does not mark private utilities. Marking of private utilities is the responsibility
of the client/landowner. If private utilities are of concern they should be marked by the
client and/or a private utility survey should be conducted prior to field activities.
Kleinfelder will prepare and submit on behalf of the City of Manteca the required soil
boring permit application and fee to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department.
2.2 FIELD WORK AND LABORATORY ANALYSIS
Sample Location SS3
Soil samples will be collected from three locations spaced approximately 5 feet away
from SS3. Soil samples will be collected at depths of '/2 and 1 foot below the ground
surface (bgs) from these three borings. Borings will be advanced using hand-auger
equipment. Once a site visit has been completed, Kleinfelder will be able to better
evaluate if hand-auger equipment is suitable. We understand there is asphalt to be
penetrated at these locations and surficial coring will be required.
A total of six soil samples will be collected. The samples will be submitted under chain-
of-custody control to a laboratory approved by the State of California Department of
Health Services for the following requested analyses:
• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) as referenced to diesel (TPH-D),
112884.1/ST010R347 Page 2 of 5 August 30, 2010
Copyright 2010 Kleinfelder
