SOIL LOGGING
After sample preservation, soil was extruded from the remaining sleeves. Soils were
visually classified by an AGE geologist in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification
System (USCS). Soil boring logs exhibiting soil profiles are depicted in Appendix A.
2.4. GRAB GROUND WATER COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
The ground water table was measured and observed to be between approximately 25 to
30 feet bsg. Two 'grab' groundwater samples were collected from the borings; the first at
the water table (labeled as GW-depth) and the second from the maximum depth of each
boring at approximately 60-65 feet bsg (labeled as GW-depth). Ground water samples
were extracted from the boring with disposable '/4-inch tubing and sampling check-valve.
Each ground water sample was transferred into three laboratory-supplied, 40-ml volatile
organic analysis (VOA) vials, and one laboratory-supplied 1-liter amber bottle. After
collection, samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container, and transported
under chain-of-custody to CTEL. Samples were analyzed for the constituents listed in
Section 2.2.
3.0. FINDINGS
Stratigraphy and ground water hydrogeology underlying the site were characterized from
field descriptions. Hydrocarbon impact to soil and ground water was assessed by
laboratory analyses. Geomap representing site map were uploaded to the State Water
Board GeoTracker site; confirmation number is 4426969408.
3.1. STRATIGRAPHY
The site stratigraphy was confirmed by field observations from boring B6 to B8. Silty clay
was encountered between 5 feet and 25 feet bsg and dominated the section at the contact
again recognized near 40 feet bsg and was observed to the lowest sample collected. A
sand was observed in the borings near 30 feet bsg and a minor silty sand was observed
in eastern boring B6 at approximately 55 feet bsg.
Hydrocarbon like odor and some relevant PID readings were observed in boring B6 at
Advanced GeoEnvironmen[al,Inc.
