26 September 2008
AGE-NC Project No. 07-1587
• The vertical extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soil near in source area is unknown. The
vertical extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soil is known to the north by boring B2 at 60 feet
bsg; to the south west by boring B5 at 40 feet bsg and is undefined in all other directions.
• The lateral extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soil is unknown in every direction(Figure 4).
• The vertical extent of hydrocarbon-impacted ground water is defined to the southwest by
boring B5, and is undefined in all other directions.
• The lateral extent of hydrocarbon-impacted ground water within the GWI water-table zone
is defined to the east by boring B3 and southwest by boring B5,and is undefined in all other
directions (Figure 5). The lateral extent of hydrocarbon-impacted ground water within the
GWII water-bearing zone is defined to the southwest by boring B5, and is undefined in all
other directions (Figure 6).
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the conclusions presented in this report,AGE recommends the following:
• Performance of additional assessment to define the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum
hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water in unknown directions;installation of ground
water monitoring well network to monitor the ground water directional gradient and to define
the dimensions and chemistry of the hydrocarbon plume.
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities.Findings were based upon analytical
results provided by an independent laboratory.Evaluation of the hydrogeologic conditions at the site
for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of available data points(e.g.,
soil and ground water samples)and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points. No
other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional interpretations, opinions and
recommendations contained in this report.
Advanced GeoEnvironmen[al,Inc.
