• 07.June 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0185
Three dual completed,2-inch diameter ozone sparge wells (points) located at MW-4,25 feet
west of MW-4 and 40 feet south of MW-4, and screened between. 23 to 25 feet bsg and 38
to 40 feet bsg.
The proposed ozone sparge wells will be screened through the water table and ground water, into
areas of known petroleum-impacted soil and ground water. Proposed well locations are depicted in
Figure 2, general lithology and the estimated extent of petroleum-impact to soil beneath the site is
depicted in cross sectional view in Figure 3.
Following well installation, each water well will be developed to maximize water flow into the well
and minimize the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping or bailing.
Procedures for well installation and development are presented in Sections 4.2 and 4.3,respectively.
3.3. IN-SITU OZONE SPARGING PILOT TEST
Following installation of ozone injection wells, a 24-week in-situ ozone sparge (IOS) pilot study is
. proposed at the site-, the results of the IOS pilot test will provide data to calculate an effective radius
of influence and determine the feasibility of TOS as a remediation alternative. Procedures for the TOS
pilot test are presented in Section 4.6. Additional ozone injection literature is contained in
Appendix A. '
3.4. REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of well installation and the 24-week TOS pilot study, a report will be prepared
presenting the findings of the investigation. The report will include a description of the work
performed, the results of soil and grab ground water analysis, and the results of the IOS pilot study.
Conclusions, applicable recommendations, maps and cross-sections will be included in the report. The
report will be in a format acceptable to the EHD and the CVRWQCB, and will be reviewed and
signed by a California Registered Geologist.
4.0..
