Quarterly ort - October 1997
. Y Re P
Shockey and Sons Trucking
850 Milgeo Avenue
Ripon, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
' In accordance with the request of Mr. Lee Shockey,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has
prepared this Quarterly Report for the site located at 850 Milgeo Avenue, Ripon, California (the
site). The scope of work included monitoring and the collection and analysis of ground water
' samples from four ground water monitoring wells. The location of the site and its surroundings are
depicted in Figure 1-Location Map. Monitoring wells, probe boring locations and a structure on the
site are shown in Figure 2 - Site Plan.
Site history and findings from previous investigations and previous monitoring events at the site are
s' detailed in the Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report -December 1996 (PIER) prepared
by AGE. These details were reviewed for the proposed recommendations listed in this quarterly
' report. '
Monitoring and sampling procedures were performed in accordance with guidelines established by
the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD) and
the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for the investigation of
underground storage tank(UST) sites.
;1
2.0. PROCEDURES
2.1. MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
' On 31 October 1997, the water level in each monitoring well was measured relative to the top of the
well casings using a Solinst water level meter. The depths to ground water and relative ground water
elevations are given in Table 1 - Relative Ground Water Elevation Data.
' After depth to water measure - '
p measurements, a two-stage submersible pump was used to purge each well. Six
' gallons of water were removed from MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3 and fifteen gallons of water were
removed from MW-4 (minimum of three well volumes). The physicochemical characteristics of the
ground water, temperature, pH and conductivity, were measured at regular purge-volume intervals
using an ICM water analyzer. Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon DOT-approved drums.
' 2.4. COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
A water sample was collected from each well, using a new disposable plastic bailer, and was
transferred into two 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0.5ml of 18%hydrochloric acid as a sample
Advanced GmEnvironmental,Inc.
