GROUND WATER REMEDIATION ALTERNATIVES <br /> r <br /> 1 AGE recognizes that two methods for remediation are readily applicable for the contaminate at the <br /> site, one consists of ground water extraction/treatment and disposal and the second is use of the <br /> to-situ ozone oxidation-sparging AGE believes the use of the in-situ mechanism is the appropriate <br /> ' remedial technology to be consider to address MTBE-impacted ground water on the site <br /> ' 6 1 GROUND WATER EXTRACTION <br /> ' There are several different methods for treatment of extracted ground water,which are collectively <br /> called "pump and treat" As the name indicates, all methods involve extraction and transfer of <br /> contaminated ground water from the aquifer to an above-ground treatment or disposal/recycling <br /> ' facility The extraction is performed using an automatic pump system to maintain capture <br /> characteristics to the aquifer and to assure that process volume requirements are maintained After <br /> treatment, the water is usually discharged into a sanitary sewer and a sanitary sewer connection is <br /> available at the site <br /> tAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
