L <br /> 4 <br /> • 12 July 2001 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0432 <br /> Page 7of10 <br /> 3 4 MONITORING AND MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES <br /> During the pump and treat start-up period(first two weeks of operation), ground water Influent and <br /> effluent of the treatment system, depth to ground water measurements and operational parameters <br /> (ground water flow meters, fluid level sensors,total flow indicators) will be monitored daily during <br /> the start-up period to ensure optimal removal of dissolved hydrocarbons <br /> Ground water samples from the pump and treat system Influent, effluent and intermediate stages will <br /> be collected on a weekly basis for the first month and monthly thereafter and submitted to a State <br /> of California Department of Health Services(DHS)-certified laboratory for analysis of the following <br /> constituents <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d) in <br /> accordance with EPA Method 8015m, <br /> • Volatile aromatic hydrocarbons benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) <br /> in accordance with EPA Method 8020, and <br /> • Oxygenated compounds di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), <br /> MTBE,tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME) and tertiary butanol (TBA) in accordance with <br /> 8260, respectively <br /> Laboratory reports for ground water analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality <br /> control(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in quarterly <br /> reports <br /> Ground water treatment operational parameters will be monitored at a minimum of once a week The <br /> ground water treatment system will be maintained on a weekly basis according to manufacturers <br /> recommendations <br /> 3 5 REPORT PREPARATION <br /> Quarterly reports will be prepared presenting the findings from ground water interum pump and treat <br /> activities The quarterly reports will include a description of work performed and the results of the <br /> groundwater analysis Conclusions and recommendations will also be uu,luded in the reports, if <br /> applicable The report will be in a format acceptable to CRWQCB guidelines, and will be reviewed <br /> and signed by a California Registered Geologist <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
