30 June 2003
• AGE-NC 1 Project No 95-0103
3 2 GROUND WATER MONITORING RESULTS
I
Field and laboratory analytical results of the April 2003 monitoring event include
3 2 1 Ground Water Elevations and Gradient
Depth to ground water ranged from 13 65 to 15 70 feet below the top of the well casings The ground
water elevations ranged from 8 28 (MW-7) to 9 43 feet (MW-3) below sea level Ground water
elevation increased approximately 0 6 feet between the January and Apr112003 monitoring events
(Table 1)
The ground water flow directions were radially Inward toward a circular depression in the area of
wells VE-2 and MW-3 at the western portion of the site, ground water flow Is inferred to be
' controlled by the ground water extraction system The ground water gradient was approximately
0 02 ft/ft from the east of the site or well MW-7 The ground water elevation contours are depicted
In Figure 3
3 2 2 Analytical Results of Ground Water Samples
' TPH-g was detected in the ground water samples from monitoring wells MW-1,MW-3,MW-4 and
MW-5 at concentrations of 660 µg11, 2,600 µg/1, 260 µg/1 and 280 µg/l, respectively
1
Various BTEX compounds were detected In ground water samples MW-1, MW-3 and MW-4,
benzene was only detected In sample MW-4 at a concentration of 3 6 µg/1, ethylbenzene was
idetected In samples MW-1 and MW-3 at concentrations of 8 7 µg/1 and 16 µg/1, respectively, and
total xylenes was detected In sample MW-3 at a concentration of 2 0 µg/1
The fuel additives MTBE and DIPE were detected In the analyzed samples,MTBE was detected In
samples MW-1, MW-3,MW-4,MW-5 and VE-5 at concentrations of between 5 0µg/1(VE-5) and
160 µg/1(MW-5), and D1PE was detected In samples MW-1, MW-3 and MW-5 at concentrations
of 5 6 µg/l, 14 µg/1 and 6 7 µg/l, respectively
' No other target analytes were detected In the samples analyzed The analytical results of current and
previous monitoring well samples are summarized in Tables 2 and 3 The laboratory report of the
current ground water sampling data (CalTech IDs 0304-0128-1 to-5 and MAI0304349), quality
' assurance and quality control(QA/QC)data and chain-of-custody form are Included In Appendix D
1
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
