The soil was spread under the
supervision of a qualified environmental geologist. Only a slight odor of gasoline remained in
the soil at that time. The owner is responsible for discing the soil on a weekly or semi-weekly
basis. Confirmation sampling of the soil and underlying substrate is schedule for the last week
in October.
The project site (1766 Monte Diablo) has one existing 4-in monitoring well. During a depth
measurement and groundwater examination on August 6, 1993, free-phase floating product was
observed in the well. Interim remedial action was taken which included hand bailing down the
well on three separate occasions. Evacuation of free-phase product from the well indicated that
the product likely accumulated in the well during the undisturbed, 2.6-yr period of time and
probably was not representative of actual conditions in the surrounding soil formation. A letter
report stating that floating product was removed from the well and that any remaining free-phase
product be removed during groundwater remediation procedures was submitted to SCEHD on
September 20, 1993,
C.11l? 1680-030,qur
2
xv,
,"ociates, lnta
EnvironnientA Scientists and Engineers
