O. Box 2009 —764-f—I
Stockton, California 95201-2009
Subject: Work Plan Addendum, Sheldon Oil Company-Stockton Site,
2210 E. Miner Avenue, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Collins:
Additional excavation and treatment of soil is required at the subject site. Per the work plan
` submitted by Kause Construction and Engineering, previous excavation at the site, removed
significant quantities of soil impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons. This soil was placed in
"biocells" and is currently undergoing "bioremediation". Due to the depth of the excavation,
the excavation was stopped at the site prior to'all of the impacted soil being removed.
Hydrocarbon',impacted soil still remains, primarily in the southeast quadrant of the excavation.
It is proposed by this work plan to continue excavation to remove the remaining impacted
soil. Work will continue at the site under the guidelines of the existing Work PIan and the
existing Health and Safety Plan. Please refer to the existing Work Plan for diagrams of the
site.
Additional remediation efforts at the site will consist of the following:
{
• A ramp will be constructed leading into the bottom of the existing excavation from i
' the west side of the excavation down to about 20 feet belowrade.
g
• A bench will be developed at the 20-foot level from which excavation work will
continue.
• Excavation will continue in the southeast quadrant of the excavation down to
where visibly impacted soil is no longer apparent or to approximately 45 feet,
whichever comes first.
4
Confirmation soil samples will be taken throughout the excavation as per the
existing Work Plan. The samples will be analyzed on a 24-hour turnaround so that
excavation can continue if necessary. .
F
7OM EPORMWORK-PLN.ADD
