10 January 2001 <br /> • AGE-NC Project No-98-0521 _ <br /> Page 5 of 7 - <br /> ' 4 1 HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED SOIL <br /> Two samples were analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX and for the suite of nine fuel additives by EPA <br /> Method 8260 Modified <br /> - TPH-g was only detected in sample MW4-20 at a concentration of 1 9 milligram per <br /> kilogram (mg/kg) - <br /> - BTEX compounds were detected in both soil samples from boring MW4, located under the <br /> - former UST excavation The highest concentrations of BTEX compounds was detected in <br /> -soil sample MW4-20 (0 14 kg/kgi xylene) <br /> • MTBE was not detected by EPA method 8020 MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8260 <br /> ' in the soil samples -MTBE was detected in soil samples MW4-15 and MW4-20 at <br /> concentrations of 23 micrograms per kilogram (µglkg) and 7 0 µg/kg, respectively <br /> Laboratory results of soil samples analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons are summarized in Tables 1 <br /> and 2 The laboratory reports (MAI Laboratory ID 49306 and 49307), quality assurance and quality <br /> _ control (QA/QC) reports-and chains-of-custody are included in Appendix B <br /> ' 4 2 HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED GROUND WATER <br /> -----After the installation of the additional ground water well on the site all four ground water <br /> ' monitoring wells had been sampled during the quarter Samples from well MW-1 through MW-4 <br /> were analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX with analysis for MTBE and the suite of seven fuel additives and <br /> one ground water sample from well-MW-4 was also analyzed for methanol, ethanol in accordance <br /> _ with EPA Method 8260 <br /> • TPH-g was not detected in the samples collected from the monitoring wells MW-1 though <br /> ' - MW-4 TPH-g was detected in the sample collected from the monitoring well MW-4 at 7,100 <br /> micrograms per liter(µg/1) _ <br /> ' • BTEX was only detected in monitoring well MW-4 at concentrations of 270 µg/l, 290µg11 <br /> 190 µg11 and 940 µg/l, respectively <br /> • MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8020 in ground water samples MW-1, MW-2 and <br /> ' - - MW-4 at 30 µg/l, 930 ug/l and 910 µg/l, respectively The previous samples were <br /> f <br /> reconfirmed for MTBE by EPA method 8260 Modified at 27 µg11, 940 µg/l and 1,200 µg/l, <br /> ' respectively TBA was also detected in sample MW-1 at 13 µg/I No other fuel oxygenates <br /> were detected in these samples <br /> r Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc <br />
