ri
SIERRA
SUMMARY
This report presents the results of the subsurface investigation conducted by Sierra
Environmental Services (SES) at the proposed site of a new Chevron Service Station, located on
the southeast corner of South Main Street and Mission Ridge Drive in Manteca, California.
One soil boring was drilled at the site. Two soil samples and one grab ground water sample
were analyzed from the boring. Soil in the boring consisted of moderate to high-permeability sand
and silty sand. Ground water was encountered at approximately 20 feet below grade.
Methylene chloride and chloroform were detected in one of the soil samples at 0.08 and
0.56 parts per million, respectively. The grab ground water sample from the boring contained 1.8
parts per billion methylene chloride. Hydrocarbons, other halogenated volatile organic
compounds, pesticides and herbicides were not detected in the soil or grab ground water samples.
No other potential sources of hydrocarbons, halogenated volatile organic compounds,
pesticides or herbicides were identified within a two-block radius of the site.
Page 1
