SOP #12 <br /> Date: 9/1/93 <br /> Page 13 of 31 <br /> • Place a new 0.45 filter membrane on the filter plate and assemble the filter <br /> holder. <br /> • Transfer sample label on the sample collected in the field (these samples were <br /> collected without preservatives) to new sample bottle (containing <br /> preservative, if appropriate). <br /> • Place filtration tube in the sample bottle containing the unfiltered solution. <br /> • Place new sample bottle (containing any necessary preservatives) under <br /> filtering unit. <br /> • Turn on pump and filter sample at less than 25 psi. <br /> • Store filtered samples on ice or frozen ice pack in coolers. <br /> • Remove used filter membrane. <br /> • Rinse filtration plate and all parts of filtering apparatus that contact the <br /> sample with deionized water. <br /> • Decontaminate any filtering glassware in an Alconox (or equivalent) <br /> solution, followed by rinses with tap water, a 1:1 nitric acid/purified water <br /> solution or 0.1 HCl, and finally, organic-free deionized water. <br /> 5.2.5 Grouting Techniques <br /> Upon completion of testing and sampling, the open hole shall be grouted after the <br /> CPT equipment has been removed. Grout will be introduced by a tremie into the <br /> bottom of the open hole and filled to the surface. The grout mix will be <br /> approximately 1 sack (94 pounds) Portland cement, approximately 5 pounds <br /> powdered bentonite, and approximately 8 gallons water. The bentonite powder and <br /> water will be mixed prior to the addition of cement. <br />
