INTRODUCTION <br />' The purpose of this Workplan is to comply with the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> Environmental Health Division directive for additional investigative work W Harlan Knoll of that <br /> agency has directed that verification sampling of the former UST burial site on the subject property <br />' be performed as a prelude to site closure This Workplan outlines the additional work necessary to <br /> determine the vertical extent of soil contamination at that location <br /> Location: <br /> The facility from which the two underground storage tanks were removed is identified as 1624 West <br />' Navy Dnve, Stockton, California As shown in Figure 1 of Appendix A, the site is located on the <br /> south side of West Navy Drive, east of Fresno Avenue As shown in Figure 2 of Appendix A, the <br /> former underground storage tanks were located on the north side of the facility The property is <br /> located in an industrial area about one-half mile southeast of the Port of Stockton complex This <br /> parcel has a frontage width on Navy Drive of about 400 feet and is about 500 feet deep with access <br /> off Navy Drive A railroad nght-of-way borders the west and east sides of the parcel A Hormel <br /> food plant is directly west of the parcel Across Navy Drive to the north is a storage yard/moving <br /> company and to the east is an older residential neighborhood <br /> Background/Site HistoEy <br /> C, __'roperty Owners and Contact Persons <br /> The CL .nt owner of the subject property is Halt of California,P O Box X, Sacramento,California <br />' 95813, in care of Mr Gerald H DeRego, corporate Loss Prevention Manager Correspondence <br /> concerning the facility can be directed to the attention of Mr DeRego at the above address <br /> Current and Previous Uses of the Propprty and Spill,Leak or Leachate Mi ation Fhsto1y on the Site <br /> The subject property has been variously used by several trucking companies and Delta Pallet <br /> rCompany Currently it is occupied by D O N Investments, a trucking company under a rental <br /> agreement with Holt of California <br /> As of October 1993,this facility was reported to be an Inactive Underground Storage Tank location <br /> Stockton Fire Department(SFD)records indicate a permit was issued in 1971 to Eagle Trucking for <br /> two underground tanks(10,000 gallons/6,000 gallons)for flammable liquid storage Another permit <br /> was issued to Delta Pallet for two 6000 gallon underground tanks (diesel and gasoline) The 1971 <br /> and 1979 permits do not agree regarding the capacity of the tanks <br /> r V�Rt i <br /> X 4 <br /> O 4 <br /> *rSCG\ <br /> r <br />
