March 9, 1987 Carnation Company/Can Division CG #'TK-13 Page: 3 <br /> and soil samples will be classified in accordance with the Unified Soil Classi- <br /> fication System. <br /> During drilling, soil samples will be collected at five foot intervals <br /> beginning at a depth of five feet using a California modified split-spoon <br /> sampler containing cleaned brass sleeves or the equivalent tube type sampler. <br /> All soil samples collected for possible analyses will be capped with aluminum <br /> foil lined lids, sealed with tape, and immediately placed in iced storage for <br /> transport to the laboratory. <br /> Disposal of all drill cuttings generated during bore hole excavation will <br /> be the responsibility of Carnation Company, Can Division. Eight to ten 55- <br /> gallon hazardous waste drums will be needed for contaminated soil. After filling, <br /> the drums will be sealed and left at the site. After drilling, all borings will <br /> be backfilled following installation of a Bentonite clay plug. <br /> It will be the responsibility of Carnation to remove the now existing <br /> excavated soil enabling the drilling of Boring #3. <br /> REPORT PREPARATION <br /> A report summarizing the soil stratigraphy, field and laboratory procedures, <br /> well construction details, and laboratory results will be supplied to Carnation <br /> Company, Can Division, and with their consent, to San Joaquin County Local <br /> Health District. All information gathered during the study is considered <br /> confidential, and will be released only upon written authorization by Carnation <br /> Company, Can Division. <br /> This proposal is based on our knowledge of the site and the requirements <br /> indicated by phone conversation and visits with Carnation Company, Can <br /> Division.
