12 0 SANITATION AND INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE <br /> • <br /> Sanitation and industrial hygiene requirements for work involving the handling of <br /> hazardous or toxic chemicals and/or materials will be specified in the Site-specific Health and <br /> Safety Plan according to the requirements defined in Sections 5 0 Medical Program, 6 0 <br /> Hazards Assessment, 7 0 Personal Protective Equipment, 8 0 Regulated Areas, and 9 0 <br /> Decontamination, of this Master Plan For other work, the following minimum requirements <br /> will apply <br /> ■ All project employees will wear clothing appropriate to the work being performed <br /> and to the prevailing weather conditions, and that can be readily cleaned of dirt <br />' and dust Each person's clothing and equipment shall comply with the minimum <br /> requirements specified in Section 7 5 1 of this Master Plan The Project Safety <br /> Officer shall have the authority to determine whether or not any worker's clothing <br />' and equipment meets minimum requirements <br /> ■ Toilet facilities will be provided at the work site (Note Portable toilet facilities <br /> need not be provided at temporary work sites where five or fewer personnel are <br /> engaged for three days or less and adequate toilet and clean-up facilities are <br /> available within a reasonable distance from the site In these situations, all <br /> personnel will be provided adequate time to use available facilities during the <br /> work day and at the end of each shift ) <br /> ■ Bottled drinking water and disposable cups will be provided at each work site, <br /> together with a container for the disposal of used cups <br /> ■ Proper ventilation will be maintained in order to avoid possible harmful buildup <br /> in areas where toxic fumes, dust, vapors, or gases may be produced Respiratory <br /> protection will be supplied when adequate ventilation cannot be provided (See <br /> also Section 6 0 -Hazards Assessment, Section 7 0 Personal Protective <br /> Equipment, and Section 10 1 Confined Space Entry) <br /> ■ No one will be permitted to work while his or her ability or alertness is impaired <br />' by illness, fatigue, medication, or other causes <br /> r <br /> • <br /> 12-1 REV 4/92-EGI <br /> III ra <br />
