Only authorized personnel will be <br /> permitted to enter this work zone. <br /> 11 .0 DECONTAMINATION PROTOCOL <br /> Decontamination of personnel and equipment will be important to ensure that <br /> contamination does not spread beyond the work zone. Vehicles should not <br /> require decontamination because the organic vapors are volatile and will <br /> evaporate. All field team members will follow these steps to decontamination: <br /> Step 1 . Remove all equipment, sample containers, and notes to <br /> the Contamination Reduction Zone. Obtain decontamination <br /> solutions and decontaminate the spades, shovels, auger <br /> flights, etc. by brushing them under a water rinse. A <br /> high-pressure steam cleaner may also be used for <br /> decontamination. Sampling tools will be cleaned <br /> in-between samples and all wastes and spent <br /> decontamination liquids will be properly contained. <br /> Step 2.
