Health & Safety Plan at Rally's Stockton page10 <br /> 12.3 Community Protection <br /> To assure the community is protected from health and fire hazards, upwind and <br /> downwind monitoring with the real time analyzer will be performed if the work <br /> zone has hydrocarbon levels exceeding 10 ppmv. If site downwind monitoring <br /> indicates persistent levels above 3 ppmv at the perimeter of the work zone, <br /> work will be shut and vapor emission control efforts will be instituted until THC <br /> levels have dropped below 3 ppmv. The work zone may also be expanded to <br /> ensure the community protection with THC levels below 30 ppmv at the <br /> downwind perimeter. <br /> 13.0 COMMUNICATION PROCEDURES <br /> Personnel in the Exclusion Zone should remain within sight of the Project Team <br /> Leader. <br /> A loud, continuous horn blast for 10 seconds is the emergency signal to <br /> indicate that all personnel should leave the Exclusion Zone. The work team will <br /> gather at the designated (upwind) refuge area and the Safety Officer will notify <br /> the Lead Agency and will be the contact for EMT and Fire Officials. <br /> The following standard hand signals will be used in case of failure of verbal or <br /> radio communication: <br /> Hand gripping throat........Out of Air <br /> Grip partner's wrist or <br /> both hands around waist.....Leave Immediately <br /> Hands on top of head........Need Assistance <br /> Thumbs Up...................OK <br /> Thumbs Down.................No, Not OK <br />
